Liu Fang Yuan, also known as the Garden of Flowing Fragrance, is one of the largest classical-style Chinese gardens in the world. The 3.5 acre site will be expanded to 12 acres with the addition of six new features, which include the Star Gazing Tower, Flowery Brush Library, Pavilion Encircled by Jade, Reflections in the Stream and Fragrance of Orchids Pavilion, Verdant Micocosm, and Terrace of Shared Delights. In the northern section, a new, larger cafe with outdoor seating will be built, along with a stream-side corridor and pavilion with scenic views. At the southern end of the lake, a hillside pavilion will be situated on the highest point in the garden with a view of the Mt. Wilson Observatory in the distance. To the west, an event space for larger gatherings will overlook the lake. The scope of work includes site grading, site utilities, and construction of all site structures. Much of the finish work will be completed by artisans brought from China.
