Developed to provide the City of Goleta with a more prominent healthcare facility, Goleta Valley Cottage Hospital Medical Office Building is a 52,000 s.f., two story medical office building that is OSHPD-3 designed. In addition to core and shell construction, the scope of work included a complete tenant improvement build-out for 15 doctor/patient services. Each office space was designed under OSHPD-3 guidelines to suit individual needs of the doctors. The facility offers maternity, internal medicine, bariatric and wound care services.
Due to the earthquake fault line proximity, the team developed a plan to minimize the impact of horizontal ground acceleration/ liquefaction. Snyder Langston’s comprehensive phasing and site logistics plans ensured cohesion amongst the Owner, Architect and Hospital Facilities Department.
Throughout the five construction phases, the team constructed a dedicated patient valet round-a-bout, maintained code compliant egress and paths of travel, built a new exit corridor, and displayed specific wayfinding signage. The comfort and safety of patients and staff were essential to the success of the project.
