The apartment-style complex, located on South State College Boulevard, is a three-story, 45,000 s.f. community that provides quality, affordable housing opportunities for seniors aged 62+. It offers 54 one- bedroom and six, two-bedroom apartments with common area amenities consisting of two laundry room facilities, three lounge areas including a game room and TV room with coffee bars, sitting area, a covered patio area, and a separate 1,200 s.f. multi-purpose building with a kitchen and patio.
The facility’s exterior features and finishes add to the “arts and craftsman” design focus. Despite the goal of being an “affordable housing” project, these higher-end finishes help create an atmosphere of taste and comfort. Value engineering enabled the client to remain within their construction budget and consisted of redesigning and reconfiguring the plumbing and electrical systems, recommending more efficient and less costly roofing materials, and within each of the units flooring and carpeting specifications were revised, as well as modifying plans for storage, millwork and kitchen design.
