This project entailed the remodel of an existing one-story clinic building, the addition of a three-story building housing the new waiting area, laser-eye center and conference rooms. The focus of the project was to update the Eye Centers’ image as a “public friendly” facility where people could come for their optical needs. To accomplish this, the Snyder Langston team worked closely with the architect and SCCO staff to develop a scheme that achieved this goal.
The existing one-story structure was completely renovated and reconfigured to feature a formal lobby and entrance adjacent to the facility’s parking lot. Functions within the building were then grouped to include pediatrics, contact lens storage and disbursement, 50 examination rooms with state-of-the-art audiovisual equipment, conference facilities, administrative offices and one of the largest optical dispensaries in Southern California.
