Dear Snyder Langston Family,
Today as we begin emerging from the Governor’s “COVID -19 Safe at Home” mandate, we have been confronted with the horrific deaths of George Floyd, Ahmaud Arbery, Breonna Taylor, Patrick Underwood, and others. As our hearts ache, we share in the sadness for those families who have lost their loved ones. We now search for answers, action, and hope as the social unrest attempts to tear us apart.
At Snyder Langston, we value Respect, and it is this value that I remind us of at this time, for it is the Respect of individual differences that enable us to work as one. We need to demonstrate Respect at all times, especially when others are not. Individual differences manifest in many ways, as with religion, gender, national origin, and, most specifically, race. It is these differences that make us stronger and better, and we need to embrace them.
As we move forward from here, I ask that each of us continue to keep our value of Respect at the forefront of our thoughts, words, and actions. Demonstrate the leadership that our country needs by confronting racism wherever it occurs, no matter how slight it may be. Let’s be the change we want others to become.
I would ask our B.R.D.G.E. committee to help us find a cause we can support as a means of coming together as a company and helping those most impacted by these recent events.
Please reach out to me if you would like to discuss these issues individually.
With great love and Respect,
John F. Rochford
